What you get

Your truck, now with a driver who walks

Park, pull the parking brake and get out. Walk around the yard, check the trailer, refuel at the pump and climb back in through the driver's door, while the traffic around you knows you are there.

Get out and back in

The door opens and closes with sound and your driver leaves the cab: the seat stays empty while you walk. Get back in at the driver's door and they are behind the wheel again.

First-person camera with responsive mouse look, a light head bob and walking and running speeds you can tune.

Traffic brakes for you

AI cars see you on the road: they slow down and stop before reaching you, and drive on once you step aside.

A real flashlight

Built with the game's own lighting, like the truck headlights: it lights walls, trailers and tall objects, and never the sky.

Collisions with the world

You bump into your truck, the trailer, walls and objects, keep a small distance from them and slide along walls instead of getting stuck.

Refuel and interact on foot

The game's own prompts keep working while you walk: refuel at the pump, rest, use the service shop or visit a dealer.

A clean screen

GPS, finances, speed and mirrors hide while you walk and come back exactly as they were. Press H to hide the shortcut panel too.

Settings and updates

An in-game menu in English and Portuguese with your keys, speeds and mouse settings, plus a button that checks for a new version.

Convoy

Single player and Convoy

Works in your career and in Convoy, the official multiplayer, with no extra setup. Your settings are the same in both.

Install in three steps

  1. Download the installer

    Run Walkaround-Setup. It finds American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 on your Steam libraries by itself.

  2. Choose your games

    Keep one or both games selected and click Install. To remove it later, use Installed apps in Windows.

  3. Start the game

    Accept the "Advanced SDK features" notice. Park, pull the parking brake and press Ctrl + F10.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Walkaround ("the mod") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the mod.

2. License

Walkaround is free for personal use. It is licensed, not sold, and all rights are reserved by Andre Lobo. You may not sell, rent or charge for the mod; redistribute or re-upload it on other sites or stores; modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it; or remove its credits and notices. Sharing a link to the official site is welcome.

3. Official source

The only official download is walkaround.cc. Copies from other places may be altered and are not supported.

4. No affiliation

Walkaround is a fan-made mod. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or supported by SCS Software. American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Convoy are trademarks of their owners.

5. Use at your own risk

The mod is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It uses the game's official SDK and changes the game only while it is running, but game updates, other mods or your system may cause problems. Keep backups of your profiles. To the extent allowed by law, the author is not liable for any loss or damage, including lost progress or saves.

6. Multiplayer

In Convoy and other online modes, follow the rules of the game and of the server you join. The mod only changes things on your own computer.

7. Privacy

The mod does not collect personal data. It only connects to the internet when you click "Check for updates", to read the latest version number from walkaround.cc.

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits (pages viewed, country, device and how you arrived). In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it only uses cookies after you give consent. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests; you can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
